On November 4–8, Novosibirsk will host the annual event of the Gorchakov Fund — the scientific and educational program “School of Central Asia — 2024”. The central theme of the School will be geoeconomics and geopolitics of transport corridors. The project partner will be the Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management, as well as the Siberian Society of International Studies (SOMI), represented by its director Denis Borisov.
The year 2024 for the Central Asian countries has been marked by increased attention to the development of international transport corridors, which help reduce imbalances in the geography of trade in the Eurasian space. However, the creation of a single infrastructure framework and the launch of all initiatives is not only an economic task, it is also a significant set of political challenges. As part of the School-2024 program, participants will discuss the new infrastructure and geo-economics of the region, as well as those connecting threads that fundamentally change the situation in Central Asia.
Leading government, public and scientific figures from Russia and Central Asian countries will act as experts.
Participants will discuss key aspects of the interaction between countries in the region, the impact of transport infrastructure on economic development and geopolitical strategies, as well as opportunities for cooperation.
