The Asia Foundation is delighted to announce its second cohort of Pacific Women Climate Leaders, a fellowship program that aims to enhance and elevate the leadership of women in climate action in the Pacific region. The Asia Foundation is committed to promoting gender equality in climate action and fostering a resilient, sustainable future for our planet.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria:

The Pacific Women Climate Leaders Fellowship is open to women from the Pacific Islands from all backgrounds and sectors, including policy, academia, the private sector, and civil society. The applicant must demonstrate leadership potential and influence in Climate Action and driving change in the Pacific region.

Specific eligibility and selection criteria are as follows:

The Pacific Women Climate Fellows must-

  • Have a demonstratable record of interest, experience and accomplishment in environment, climate action and gender equality;

  • Be thoughtful, committed, respected, and inspirational leaders within their professional fields and within their larger community;

  • Be available and able to participate in all program components on the program dates specified (March 23-April 2, plus travel time); and

  • Be resident nationals or citizens of the following Pacific Island countries and territories: The Cook Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, the Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Palau, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.

Funding:

The Program will cover all related travel expenses (international round-trip airfare from your city of residence, domestic airfare within the United States, lodging and meals throughout the program, and visa fees.) The Asia Foundation will provide support to obtain a visa to enter the United States.
