The Gorchakov Fund announces a call for applications to take part in the annual scientific and educational programme to be held this year in Vladikavkaz. The event will be partnered by Khetagurov North Ossetia State University.

Topic of the event: Caucasus Region- Centrifugal and Centripetal Processes.

The Dialogue programme will feature lectures, round tables, panel discussions and a hands-on part. The conference experts will be lead scholars in the field of international relations, renowned political scientists, politicians, historians, and representatives of community-based organisations. Young international relations specialists will visit the main attractions of the region as part of the programme.

Eligibility:

Young experts in Caucasus studies aged 21-35 from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, Russia, Turkey, as well as other countries are welcome to participate in the forum.

How to participate?

  • Sign up on the Russian version of the Gorchakov Fund website.

  • Navigate to “Мои проекты” section and select “Кавказский Диалог – 2024,” then hit the name of the programme once again in the drop-down list.

  • Fill in all the sections of the entry form.

  • Attach an essay or analysis in Russian or English of 1,000 to 2,000 characters with spaces on one of the topics listed.

  • Click the “Подать заявку” button once all the entry form boxes are filled in.

Essay topics:

  • South Caucasus transport routes: prospects and limitations;

  • International security and strategies of key actors in the South Caucasus;

  • The 3+3 format: opportunities and risks;

  • The state of public opinion in the countries of the South Caucasus;

  • Cultural cooperation as a way to overcome differences between the countries of the Caucasus

  • The authors of the top three essays will be paid for their travel to the venue and back.

Terms of participation:

The organisers cover the costs of accommodation in double rooms, meals, travel from the airport of Vladikavkaz to the hotel and back, along with the travel as part of the programme. The Fund also helps foreign citizens to apply for a Russian visa.
